Life in the metaverse will become more engaged and complex, which will be an invitation for crimes. As we saw in the past few articles, crimes related to privacy that organizations selling personal data without the user’s awareness. Along with this, there is the possibility of companies being hacked and user data getting leaked purposefully. More complicated systems come to halt with more security holes to block.

People should be ready for user-on-user crimes, even those involving cyber trespassing, deception, violence, obscenity, and harassment. People are even doing all of these things already from the internet era (on the internet), and of course, they will continue to do so in the metaverse too.

Surely, even today, where we think we are in quite a new generation still many people have to face sexual assault, right? Will this is going to continue in the metaverse too? or will, it stops? Who decides? Do we have something like police watches in the metaverse now, to stop such an abusive way of behaving? Do we have prisons in the metaverse like the real world for their crimes?

You must have heard the phrase ‘coin has two sides. This is the case with metaverse too. While many think about the positive and how beneficial the metaverse is going to be. There are a few who have the courage to look on the other side and act upon what they are witnessing by making attempts to draft certain regulations. This is what brings the topic of laws and regulations that need to be followed in the metaverse.

There are a lot of issues regarding Metaverse and what kind of legal rules and regulations it will include. From the concern of the assaulting of a female avatar to the selling off assets in millions, Metaverse has shown plenty of challenges.

However, this is just the starting of the revolution of the internet, and full implications of the technology of Metaverse will be realized only in 10-15 years. Still, lawmakers will have to be agile in assuring that the Metaverse is in coordination with the norms of data protection.
